Ranking the 60 Disney Animated Films (10-1)

Well here I am for part 2 and your top 10! I hope you guys are still with me! I thought this was way too long to post in 1 part. If you haven't read it yet, read it here. Part 1 If you've already read, here we go with the Top 10!

10- Emperor's New Groove- (01)- This is hilarious! It makes me laugh more than any other Disney movie; but, the story sometimes falls a bit flat.

 

 9- The Princess and the Frog- (09) When I saw this movie, I instantly fell in love with it. It was dubbed by critics as the best since since The Lion King. I agree. The music, the animation, the story, it was truly a throwback to the 90's films I grew up with. Tiana is a true role model!

 

8- Peter Pan - (53) This movie always makes me smile! When they fly to Neverland my heart soars! Mr. Smee has always been a favorite character. 

 

  7-  The Hunchback of Notre Dame- (95)   I am struggling with ranking this so low. One reason I am is because it's so dark. As a child I couldn't stand this; but, once I became an adult it catapulted to one of my favorites. I mean it's about a priest who burns down Paris because a gypsy won't sleep with him. The content is not a kids story. I think this movie is very underrated.

  6- The Rescuers-  (77)  This is the only animated film my mom enjoyed (until Mulan was released.- Mulan was the first movie I saw in theatres.) I think this is why it ranks so high on my list. It's all about the nostalgia. I also think the story is cute.

Now for the best 3 movie arc of Disney animation ever! I think all of these movies deserve a 5/5 star ranking!

   5- Aladdin (92)

   4- Beauty and the Beast (91)

   3- The Lion King (94)

All three of these movies are wonderful from the animation, to the music and storyline. They are virtually perfect. It was extremely hard to rank these films. When Disney made these 3 films they were one well-oiled machine. I hope they can one day match this peak again! 

2- Cinderella- (50)  The classic Disney film. It's amazing from start to end! When you think Disney one of the first films you think of is Cinderella. The characters are great. The animation is stunning. The music is fun. It's all around a great work of art.

 

    59 down. What did I leave as #1?! If you know me, it's no surprise!

 

      1- One Hundred and One Dalmatians (61)

  I finally read the book about 10 years ago and was not a bit impressed! This is the rare exception where the book is NOT better. I love this movie and the crazy thing is I'm more of a cat person. I love the story, the animation, the villain, the characters, everything! I'm sure most of you will say "really?", it's not deserving of #1! I say it is:it's an everyday common story about a couple who aren't royal or rich. They don't become that way, they stay everyday people, who love animals! What is better than that?! Nothing! It's more relatable than most Disney films. If you haven't seen it, watch NOW and skip the book! (It kills me to tell someone not to read. Please read, just find a different book!
