Idol on ABC

 So ABC now owns American Idol instead of FOX. Now in its 3rd (or 18th) season, it has started to come into its own. 

  The first season back was kinda blah. It had some decent talent; but, it was run of the mill. The judges weren't that amazing. The top 5 were pretty good; but, it was a transition and learning season. It did what it needed to do to Catapult the next two seasons. 

   Season 2 stepped up its game. It had some really amazing voices in that top 20. Also they have true artist, song writers, producers. Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon has vocals to match Freddy Mercury and Alyssa Raghu could sing with the best of them. Everytime Jeremiah stepped on stage I either cried or got goosebumps or both. Alejandro can song- write, play guitar, play piano, orchestrate music, his voice was just kinda mediocre. 

  Season 3, thus far, has been incredible. First, the judges have really come into their own and have become one. They have been giving amazing critique and are really teaching. Same with Bobby Bones he has gotten to vibe with the contestants as their mentor. I even got my friend Josh to watch with me. Josh doesn't even like music. That should tell you something about this crop of talent. When we got down to 20 and I could not wait to see what happened next. True artist have shown up and I was all about it. I wanted 15 of this 20 to make the top 10. (Obviously, that's not a thing.) While I will say this season was a bit odd because of Corona Virus it still was good because the talent! 

  They have already started auditions by online submission for season 4. I say with the trend of contestants getting stronger they should keep it going. Do I want another 15 seasons like Fox did? Maybe not. I think 5 quality seasons are better than 15 with the last 5 being lackluster.
