Agree to Disagree

"Can't we all just get along?"

    When did Americans become partisan? When did it become taboo to befriend someone different than you? I despise the way this is heading.  I know people that won’t talk to me because I’m conservative; meanwhile, some of my best friends are liberal.

    Did you see what I did there? I basically said you can disagree and be friends. Shocking, I know! I really don’t like when people think you can’t do that. It is honestly my pet peeve.  Why? USA is a beautiful place full of diversity. You can practice whatever religion; every race can succeed! This nation is far from perfect; however, it is truly a place of diversity and I love it! It is very sad for me to see this division.

    ‘Cancel culture’ feeds into this division. I believe this is product of the media in the country. Why is it frowned upon if a person of color or a person who is LGBT is conservative? I have seen a lot of hate going to these people from the far-left. If you don’t fit these stereotypes and nothing makes me more nauseous than the ‘accepting’ left not accepting you if you don’t bow down to the narratives. 

I do see it a on the right side too; for example, “You can’t be Christian and democrat”. Neither side is innocent. I think judging is wrong period. Am I perfect?  Nope! I am far from perfect.  I try to see all sides of the argument and not to judge others; but, at the end of the day, I am only human, everyone is! Let's just try to get along and spread the love.
