Ranking the Home Alone films

6- Home Alone 4-

Why? This is awful. We did not need this. The dad cheats on the mom! NO! I rebuke this film in the name of John Hughes, film lovers, Millennials and Jesus!

5- Home Alone 5-

This is the most boring film I’ve ever seen in my life. Zzzzzzzz. Nothing happens. Skip it.

4- Home Alone 6 –

Much better than 4 and 5. I am glad the saga redeemed itself a smidge. Is it good? No. It’s not bad. It’s harmless. I enjoyed it. Would I watch again? Maybe.

3- Home Alone 3-

This movie is entertaining. It’s fun. It’s similar enough to the original 2 and different enough that I liked visiting this concept again. The parrot was a fun touch! I can rewatch this with no complaints.

2- Home Alone 1-

Classic. I enjoy rewatching this one every time! It is heartfelt. It is funny. It is a true family-friendly comedy. I really can’t say anything negative about this film. Plus I love the cameo from John Candy “Polka, polka!” This movie is truly a classic and I know people will tell me I’m wrong but it’s my list, not yours.

1- Home Alone 2-

One of my all-time favorite films. I love this one so much! When Kevin befriends the bird lady in NYC it warms my heart and then Mr. Duncan gives him the turtle doves and he takes it to her. That friendship coupled with the aesthetic of NYC just makes me smile.  I love seeing his antics ensue around a city. The hotel and the employees there add another aspect of fun. Also, at the end when the Mom finds him (with a suggestion from the police officer) because she knows that her son would want to go see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Plaza it gives me chills every time. The comedy of the first one is still there. I just think it ups the heart of the first one.
