My 100th blog post! A look back!

This is my 100th blog post. I did take me over 7 years to do it and it was very inconsistent. Sometimes I blogged and posted a lot sometimes I would take a whole year off. But writing makes me happy. It is truly my favorite hobby and I love to share it with whomever reads it. Shoutout to my #1 reader Mom. Another shoutout to Jeremy Nicholas! You have commented on more than anyone else!

I am proud of this blog for many reasons. Here are 5 reasons....... and one thing that puzzled me.

1.) I stuck it out. Over 7 years to reach this goal with 2 years I barely posted anything I was still writing. Some are fluff articles, some are heavy, and some are in between and that's alright with me.

2.) I tried different styles of writing on here a short story, several interviews, reviews, lists, how-To's, a few blogging series etc. On a wide array of topics, I talked about personal struggles as well as family, friends, Disney parks, movies, books, music and more.

3.) Success. Some articles have little reads and that is okay but two had over 1,000 views. One of the two over 6,000 views. In less than 24 hours, I got over 2,500 readers. Almost 35,000 views total from 6 continents at least 30 countries in 7 and a half years. (I guess no Antarctic penguins read my blog. Rude.) I didn't do it for numbers and never dreamed this would happen; but it did!

4.) Only about 80% of my readers were from the USA. I have had over 2,000 views from France alone. I don't even know anyone from France.

5.) It has helped my mental health!

One thing that has always puzzled me is that some adult p**n site promoted me once. I got several views from this site. I had never visited or heard of this site and my content is very rated PG. So, I am not sure why.... but .... thanks???? My friend Parker thinks this is hilarious.

5 Frequently Asked Questions

1.) What do you blog about?

Anything I want to; it's my blog!

2) Why do you blog?

It's my favorite hobby and it improves my mental state. It's a great way to release emotions. Plus, it was a way to get back into writing, which I always liked.

3.)  Why don't you blog more often?

I have dry spells and the polar opposite super creative spells where I will post multiple in a day.

4.) How do you come up with ideas?

Sometimes I google ideas, but I leave a notepad by my bed and jot down ideas constantly.

5.) What is the most surprising thing about blogging?

It is so easy and yet so hard. It is easy to write but when you aren't in the mood it's very hard. At least with writing for school or a newspaper, topics are often pre-assigned. I have to come up with the topics.
